US Special Envoy for Afghan Peace Zalmai Khalilzad has called on all parties to the conflict to reduce violence.
His remarks came as local officials in Kunduz acknowledged yesterday that dozens of Taliban and civilians had been killed or wounded in the airstrikes.
Zalmai Khalilzad wrote on his Twitter account that the violence has escalated in the past few days and many Afghans, including civilians, have been killed.
Referring to the beginning of the Afghan dialogue in Doha, he said:
"It is imperative that all sides significantly reduce violence."
