The story of a beautiful girl and a hungry tiger!
It is said to be the most controversial story that has ever
caused so much controversy between men and women in history. It is the story of
a beautiful girl and a tiger written by the American writer Frank Stockton, the
story of a king of old. The crime had created a new and rare way for the
accused to be tried and punished.
The new method was that the person accused of the crime
would stand in front of two closed doors, a beautiful girl would stand behind one
door, and a hungry tiger behind the other door. The accused would be told to
open a door, if he opened the door of the girl, the beautiful girl would be
forcibly married to him and if he opened the door of the tiger, he would be
forced to confront the tiger. Of course, this confrontation was at the expense
of the culprit. That is, opening the door of a beautiful girl means that the
man is pure and innocent, and opening the door of the tiger means that the man
is sinful and the punishment is to eat the tiger.
Thus the story goes, the controversy arose when the king's
daughter fell in love with an ordinary young man of the nation and he also fell
in love with her, in short, one day both of them were caught by the king in an
inappropriate ... situation. Since the young man was a commoner, the king
brought him to trial in the manner of a girl and a tiger.
When the time came for the trial, the accused young man
looked at another side in the crowd, who had seen the king's daughter (his
beloved) in a tall palace, who was looking at him. He also saw the shawls of
both the doors and saw which tiger stood behind which door and which maiden
stood behind which.
People looked at the young man and the young man secretly
watched his beloved. The last time they saw him, she pointed to one of the two
doors, which no one knew but him. Here the young man was deep in thought. He
was convinced that he loved her and wanted her released. So it is impossible to
point to the tiger's door. But on the other hand, the king's daughter is
naturally ungrateful and arrogant, so is it possible that she would have
pointed to the door behind which the beautiful girl is standing! That he would
forcibly marry her.
Would the king's daughter and the young man's beloved have
been overwhelmed with pride and arrogance and would have pointed to the tiger's
door, and if love and affection would have prevailed and pointed to that door?
Where did the beautiful girl stand? Would the young man have accepted his
girlfriend's words or would he have taken action against her?
Shortly afterward, the young man decided to open the door
that his mistress had pointed at him. Here the writer of the story, Stockton,
stops and says: I am sorry I cannot expect the result and I do not know what
came out of the door, did the girl come out or the tiger ?! And the story is
over.
As we said at the beginning this story caused great
controversy among the readers, men and women clashed about the story, women
said that women are always sacrificing for men, probably the king's daughter
will go to her lover's door. Pointed, not to the tiger's door. She would have
made the sacrifice to keep it half-hearted and helpless but to keep her lover
healthy and alive.
And male readers said that it is the nature of a woman to
want if her loved one is lost and falls into the hands of someone else, it is
better for her to tear the tiger to pieces. So probably she would have pointed
to the tiger's door. The story, however, remained unsatisfactory at work. Now
tell me, what do you think, would the king's daughter have pointed to the
tiger's door, or the girl's?
The answer is up to you
