Gold prices have also risen in Pakistan following a rise in global gold prices, with jewelers saying a tonne of gold sold for Rs 116,200 on Saturday.
Earlier, the price of 24-carat gold per ounce in the world market increased by 16 and reached 1931.
Haji Elias, a trader in Peshawar's Sarafa Bazaar, said the price of gold in the international market may rise further in the coming days, which could have an impact on Pakistani markets as well.
Speaking to MST News, Haji Elias said on Saturday, the price of a tonne of gold in Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi, Lahore and other major cities had gone up by Rs 1,800 and the price of 10 grams of gold had gone up by Rs 1,543.
According to Haji Elias, a tola of gold is currently being sold at Rs 116,200 and 10 grams of gold at Rs 99,623 in Peshawar and other major cities of Pakistan.
According to gold traders, the price of a tonne of gold in the Pakistani market on Friday was Rs 4,000 lower than the Dubai gold market.
