The Taliban have claimed control of Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul in northern Afghanistan, but government sources say heavy fighting is continuing in those cities.

The statement also claimed that all government buildings and facilities in the center of Sar-e-Pul were in their hands.

There were also reports of airstrikes on some targets in Kunduz and some shops and markets were set on fire during the fighting.
So far there have been no accurate reports of civilian casualties on either side of the conflict in the city.
Reports from Sar-e-Pul also say that most parts of the city and government buildings have fallen into the hands of the Taliban and that only the ANA battalion is currently resisting in the Imam Kalan area.
Sar-e-Pul MP Aziza Jalis and Mohammad Hussain Mujahidzada, a member of the provincial council, told the BBC that Sar-e-Pul's governor, police chief, NDS director and several other provincial officials were stationed in the same battalion. Have been replaced.
