Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said the United States has failed to re-impose sanctions on Iran. He warned in a televised speech on Sunday that his country would respond to US atrocities.
Mr Rouhani's warning comes as European countries have called the US decision to re-impose sanctions on Iran unilateral and illegal.The administration of President Donald Trump says the United States is no longer part of the agreement the international community signed with Tehran over Iran's nuclear program in 2015.
President Trump insists the deal is to the detriment of the international community, and he wants to re-impose sanctions on Iran.
But Britain, France and Germany have said the US government has no authority to do so.
The three countries, including China, Russia and the United States, were part of a landmark agreement reached between Tehran and the international community on Iran's nuclear program in 2015.
